The 11 plus, is a selective entrance examination for secondary schools across the country. The assessment is taken at the beginning of Year 6 when students embark on their final year of primary school. It is used by both state-funded grammar schools and many private schools to determine admission.
The examination specifically tests your child’s ability to think critically, respond to instructions and work under time pressure, based on the following components: Verbal Reasoning, Non-Verbal Reasoning and Mathematics. The format and content of the assessment differs across the country with some geographical areas completing different examinations than others; however, Wirral students sit the GL examination which focuses on three elements: Verbal Reasoning, Non-Verbal Reasoning and Mathematics.

The Upton Hall Exam consists of two verbal reasoning papers which includes many skills such as code breaking, logic and sequencing. Space To Learn prepares the girls through increasing their confidence and stamina to answer reasoning questions at the required pace with great accuracy.
The St. Anslems’ exam consists of 3 parts; Verbal Reasoning, Maths and English.
We prepare the boys by equipping them with all the neccessary skills needed for success in the Anslems examination.
